Dense Phase & Lean Phase Conveying Systems - Leading in Operational Efficiency
These are engineering systems used in movement of solids of particulate nature in industrial processes. These are solids such as flour, cement, sugar and other powders. These systems can transport solids up to 50 mm in diameter. The pneumatic conveyor only transports dry powder solids with moisture level not exceeding 20 % and non sticky.
The pneumatic conveying systems utilize air as the transport medium. The solids particles are moved suspended in the moving air from one point to the other. These systems are preferred due to their easy handling, set up and installation as well as ability to provide dust free operating environment. Positive conveying systems are employed for longer distances and can deliver to multiple destinations within the process. They are also able to handle greater volumes in operation. A positive displacement blower is used that may have single or multiple material entry points which release product into the conveyor line using a rotary air lock valve system able to retain the required pressure difference between the conveyor and normal air pressure. The material is transported suspended in air and may exit in multiple areas separated through filters, cyclone separators or even directly deposited onto collection vessels. This pressure system has higher efficiency and may operate even without the rotary air lock system.
These are systems used in material transport from several sources such as storages, process machines or even trucks. The vacuuming system allows easy collection of materials from the containment areas. These systems are ideal for materials that are abrasive, fragile, dusty, cohesive and hygroscopic in nature. They are low speed conveying systems where the product is never suspended in an air stream. Their operating speeds are lower due to the nature and volume of material they transport. Dense phase conveying system may be designed as semi dense phase or dilute phase pneumatic system. He material is also fluidized and in a concentrated manner such as at the bottom of a pipeline. The system is referred to as the lean phase because the ratio of product to the air medium is low. The systems are designed to operate under one bar. The product conveyance can vary in the particle size, shape and density of the particles. The system operates very well in both vacuum and pressurized conveying systems. The lean phase system is therefore more preferred operating system due to the wide range of application.
