Industrial Centrifugal Fans

All About Industrial Centrifugal Fans

Industrial Fans are the machines with a primary function to provide a massive blow of air to the buildings and other areas of the plant in order to keep the surrounding environment clean. Such a huge airflow can only be achieved through the help of rotation of a number of blades which is connected to hub and shaft, driven by the motor. This type of fan is also known as a blower. Another type of air blower is used for household purposes and even in industrial buildings to flush out the layer of dust from nooks and corners of the room space.

Categories of Industrial Fans

Industrial Fans are available in two varieties: Centrifugal Fans and Axial Fans. Centrifugal Fans get their name from the force that comes in a circular motion which is centrifugal motion. The rotating blades builds up this force with the aid of the blades attached at a right angle to the disks. Force thus created provides the required direction to the air in order to increase the pressure. Centrifugal Fans were first brought into existence by a military general Lieutenant General Alexander Sablukov of the Russian Army in 1832. The airflow created by this fan is directed via tubes & ducts. Therefore it helps achieve a higher pressure as compared to the axial fans.

On the other hand, Axial fan generates air in the axial direction. Its origin can be traced back to the 1880s when it was used for the horizontally designed windmills of Europe during the Middle Ages. These fans create airflow having a high flow rate, which means that there is a large volume of airflow. Airflow type generated is of low pressure. They require a low power input for operation.

Applications of Centrifugal Fans

Centrifugal fans are used in various forms as they are ideal for high pressure performances which are drying or air conditioning. Centrifugal Fans allows continuous airflow generation and thus allows the release of stable energy up to 80% from the systems. These fans are durable and have a smart device to prevent overloading when the prescribed limit is exceeded. Its versatility to work with clean, dry and wet air, it is also easier to maintain, thus making it suitable to opt for industrial purposes.

Centrifugal Fans

ID Vs FD Fans

ID fans mean Induced draft fan and are generally found between Chimney and Dust Collector. The purpose of ID Fan is to remove hot gases from the furnace through the gas collector whereas the FD Fans or Forced draft sucks in the air from drives it into the combustion chamber of the boiler. FD Fans help to regulate the pressure within the boiler.

The Bottom Line

Techflow, a company based in the city of Gujarat, established back in 1979 is known for manufacturing and supplying authentic, energy-saving and reliable centrifugal industrial fans and Axial Fans. The company’s rich exposure of around forty years in air handling, pollution control equipment makes it the best supplier of Industrial fans in India as well as across the world to reputed MNCs and OEMs.
